The worst day yet? Syrian civilians killed in attacks, activists say

  • 190 estimated death toll in Syria yesterday; a deadly day source

» Possibly the deadliest day since the Syrian uprising began: Approximately 10,000 civilians have been killed since protests against the Assad regime began in March 2011, according to the U.N. — though these numbers are tough to verify independently because Assad’s government has made it difficult for journalists to report freely.

Abortion might be considered wrong by some, but if pro-lifers feel so strongly about it, why isn’t there a greater effort to help and protect single mothers and their children?

Unplanned pregnancy, especially in the case of rape, is devastating to the lives of many women. I can’t imagine having a child with the way my life is going and I’m sure I’m not alone. I’m fortunate enough to have never been pregnant. If a woman suffered trauma from parents who also suffered trauma, wouldn’t we want to stop the cycle? People need to be emotionally prepared to bring another human into the world. Stress upon stress with very little help just continues the cycle.

I feel like, once again, the world says to women, “No matter what, because you have the ability to create life, it’s your fault and you have to deal with it, as well as all of the stress you faced prior.”

Most people who make laws were never poor. Poverty is a force that affects far more than finance.
